In Ms. Izzi's Theatre Classes, students are taught performance skills, the history of the stage, theatrical terminology, and team building. Students do not only perform monologues, skits, and scenes, but they help write them as well? The students who prefer to participate backstage make costumes, design sets, and build props. Lower elementary classes focus on the basics of theatre, such as story building, memorizing lines, and vocal projection. Whereas upper elementary and middle school students dive into character analysis, literary elements, and the importance of objectives, obstacles, and tactics. Near the end of the school year, all students will apply their theatre knowledge when they perform their class plays.
